"I was dissed and I don't know why." That could have been the title to this week's post.
This will be a short and probably surprising update on my project. I’ve hit a stumbling block--actually two. But, I’m working through it.
If you typically read the blog posts here, this week, you might want to listen on the player above. I'm not sure I can effectively communicate my level of frustration or confusion in writing.
So, here's what happened. I contacted a house designer to work on my project, our forever home. After a couple of easy, very pleasant conversations, I emailed him a rough sketch of how I want the house laid out and about 15 wish list pictures from Houzz and Pinterest. I heard nothing back from him. I called, left voicemails, left text messages, and nothing. Na-da. Crickets.
I got zero response. No "I'm no longer interested." No "I can't fit you into my schedule." No "I hate your taste and don't want work on this house." Nothing.
So, I let that go and moved on to another designer. And the same thing happened a second time.
THE SAME THING! Great conversation and communication. Lots of interest in doing the project (or so I thought). Emails sent with my ideas. And no response. None. Again.
As you can imagine, these experiences have me questioning many things-- my house ideas, my judgement of character, my decision to use a house designer instead of an architect, heck, even my personality.
Moving forward, I personally am going to try to draw my house plan to scale on graph paper and attempt to hire another house designer to simply put it into CAD, the computer software that is used to design houses.
I'll keep you posted on the progress. I'm a bit shaken and frustrated, but not completely discouraged. No one said this road would be easy. I'm moving forward.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you'll join me next week.
